alar plate(s), basal plate, endolymphatic diverticulum, ependymal layer of neural tube, isthmus, mantle layer of neural tube, marginal layer of neural tube, mesencephalon (midbrain), mesocoele (midbrain ventricle), metencephalon: alar plate and basal plate, rhombencoel (fourth ventricle), rhombic lip, roof plate, root of cranial accessory nerve (CN XI), root of vagus nerve (CN X), sulcus limitans, tegmentum, trochlear nerve (CN IV), vestibular pouch

A section through the middle of the fourth ventricle and rootlets of the vagus and cranial accessory nerves.

Observe:
1. The three parts of the undulating sulcus limitans that separates the alar and basal plates.
2. The three distinct layers of the neural tube.
3. The dorsal tip of the vestibular pouch that will form part of the internal ear.
