L-1 spinal ganglion, L-2 spinal ganglion, L-2 spinal nerve, anterior inferior iliac spine, colon, corpus cavernosum, corpus spongiosum, external abdominal oblique muscle, external iliac artery and vein, female duct, femoral nerve, femur, ganglion cells, glans (penis), iliac crest, iliacus muscle, internal abdominal oblique muscle, internal iliac artery, junction of common iliac veins forming the inferior vena cava, junction of internal iliac and umbilical arteries, junction of ureter and urinary bladder, latissimus dorsi aponeurosis, mesonephric duct, psoas major muscle, psoas tendon, pubic symphysis, retropubic space, scrotal swelling, superior pubic ramus, tensor fasciae latae muscle, transversus abdominis muscle, ureter, urethral plate

A section through the glans penis, urethral plate and L-1 and L-2 spinal ganglia.

Observe:
1. The corpus spongiosum on each side of the urethral plate.
2. The retropubic space between the pubic symphysis and bladder.
3. The ureter in two locations, one dorsal to the mesonephric duct, the other at its junction with the bladder lining.
4. The femoral nerve between the psoas major and iliacus muscles.
5. The junction of the common iliac veins forming the inferior vena cava.
