A section through the rostral part of the nasal cavity and secondary palate.

Observe:
1. The fusion lines between the lateral palatine process and nasal septum.
2. The well-developed genioglossus muscle in the tongue.
3. The facial muscles and parotid duct beneath the ectoderm.
4. The superior sympathetic ganglion, inferior vagal ganglion and internal and external carotid arteries between the sternocleidomastoid muscle and the pharynx.
5. The junction of the jugular lymph sac and the internal jugular vein.
