—	I practice my breathing about 70% of the time.
—	My foot has grown to about three inches in length (about 7.5 cm).
—	I sometimes drink 450cc (or 15 oz) of amniotic fluid each day.
—	My thighs are about three inches long and I am ready to go.
—	My heart has beat 54 million times so far, and I'm not even born yet!
—	Here I come, ready or not!

On February 23, 2007 the 9th month (32-36 wks) begins.

48 cm (19 inches)


—	My weight is up around 2,500 grams (about 5½ pounds).
—	Music I hear during these last weeks of pregnancy will appeal to me later.
—	My feet are now 15 times their length when I was a full-grown embryo!
—	Gaining weight for my newborn photos is now a top priority!
—	My hand grasp is firm because I'm getting stronger every day.
—	So far, the bigger I get, the more fluid I have for swimming.
—	I deserve an award for passing the 50 million heart beat milestone!
—	My belly is finally as big around as my head.
—	My brain weighs about 300 grams (a little less than ¾ pound).
—	Now I weigh around 3,000 grams (about 6 pounds, 10 ounces).

On January 26, 2007 the 8th month (28-32 wks) begins.

45 cm (18 inches)


—	After 40 million heartbeats, do I need a tuneup?
—	As I gain more and more fat, I become less and less wrinkled. Thanks mom!
—	My foot is almost 2½ inches long (about 6 cm)—and I have two of them!
—	I breathe much more often than I used to, even without air.
—	My brain weighs about 200 grams (a little less than ½ pound).
—	I am really starting to put on weight. I am up to 2,000 grams (almost 4½ pounds)!
—	My lifetime supply of filtration units in my kidneys is now present. I am unable to grow them ever again..
—	My lungs will grow "air pocket" cells from now until I'm 8 years old.
—	What my mom eats will affect what I prefer to eat later.

On December 29, 2006 the 7th month (24-28 wks) begins.

40 cm (16 inches)


—	My thigh bone is about two inches long (about 5 cm).
—	My weight is up around 1,000 grams (about 2 pounds, 3 ounces).
—	My foot is about two inches long (about 5 cm) and I have beautiful toes.
—	My eyes can see in color.
—	My sniffer is working! What's that smell?
—	I taste what my mother eats.
—	My brain will get 400% to 500% heavier between now and birth.
—	My eyes are ready with tears, if I need to cry.
—	My head is as big as a softball.
—	The pupils in my eyes react to light—just like newborns and big kids.
—	I'll double my current weight before I'm born.
—	My breathing motions are getting deeper and deeper and taking longer and longer.
—	My weight is up around 1,500 grams (about 3 pounds, 5 ounces).
—	I can distinguish sounds of different frequencies.

—	Sometimes my eyes move rapidly just like eye movements seen in grownups having dreams.
—	My weight is up around 500 grams (about 1 pound, 2 ounces).
—	Starting this week, if I am born prematurely, I have a chance of surviving.
—	My heart beat count has passed 30 million beats!
—	The two sides of my brain are no longer symmetrical.
—	Sometimes I practice fast breathing motions (up to 44 times per minute).
—	My brain weighs about 100 grams (a little less than ¼ of a pound).
—	Sudden, loud noise causes me to squint and jump.
—	My lungs are making a substance necessary for breathing after birth.
—	Loud noise speeds up my heart, and makes me move and swallow too much.

—	My heart has now beat has more than 20 million times!
—	My head is about as big around as my mother's wrist.
—	My sweat glands have arrived.
—	I move my larynx, as if practicing to cry out at birth.
—	I wear white cream to keep my skin young looking.
—	My ovaries now contain all the “egg” cells I will ever have.
—	My body can now make melanin so that I can have nice skin tones.
—	My movement, breathing, and heart rate now follow daily rhythms.
—	My head keeps growing. It is now the size of a tennis ball.
—	I heard that. Please keep it down!
—	My skin is complete.
—	Since my eyes are no longer sealed shut, I can blink them.
—	No one knows if I dream, but my eyes move rapidly when I sleep.

On October 06, 2006 the 4th month (12-16 wks) begins.

21 cm (8.3 inches)


—	My glands are making more and more hormones all the time.
—	My whole body (except for parts of my scalp) responds to light touch.
—	My brand new teeth are under construction.
—	I open and close my jaw more often than boys my age.
—	Girls my age move their jaws more often than boys.
—	I am strong enough to get my mother's attention with a good kick!
—	I turn toward something touching my mouth. Maybe its food!
—	I'm moving my jaw now, but not as often as a girl moves hers.
—	My belly is making digestive enzymes to break down food. Thank you belly!
—	I am starting to make blood cells inside my bones—just like big kids!
—	My head is bigger than a golf ball—and much better looking too!
—	My foot is about one inch long (about 2½ cm). I probably have the best feet in the family!
—	My new body fat will keep me warm and store energy.
—	My teeth are growing enamel all over the surface for protection.
—	All air passages inside my lungs have finally arrived.
—	My thigh bone (femur) is now about an inch long (or 2.5 cm).
—	My body produces stress hormones if I'm stuck with a needle.

—	Growth spurt! My weight increased 60% this past week.
—	There are taste buds all over the inside of my mouth.
—	I touch my mouth—a lot!
—	My body is making more hormones than I can count.
—	Now my arms don't seem so small compared to the rest of my body.

—	I'm making all kinds of fancy facial expressions.

—	Sometimes I just feel like yawning so I yawn! (9 wks, 4 days)
—	My vocal cords are forming. I can't wait to use them. (9 wks, 4 days)
—	My weight increased more than 75% just this week!
—	All my bones are getting hard.
—	My fingernails and toenails are coming in—just like the big kids.
—	The right and left sides of my brain are connecting with each other.
—	I now have my very own fingerprints.
—	When my upper eyelid is touched, my eyes roll downward.

September 21, 2007 Had dr's visit 10 weeks

—	I open my mouth and can even move my tongue.
—	I have eyelids, but they are fused shut. (9 wks)
—	I can drink whenever I want. (9 wks)
—	I sigh, stretch, and move my head. (9 wks)
—	My ovaries now contain early reproductive cells. (9 wks)
—	For some reason, I love sucking my thumb. Usually the right one. (9 wks)
—	Did you know I can grab things? (9 wks)

—	My hands touch each other and my feet touch too! (7 wks, 4 days)
—	My new knee joints help me bend my legs. (7 wks, 4 days)
—	Two hands, five free fingers each, what fun! (7 wks, 4 days)
—	I have ten free toes and they're beautiful! (7 wks, 6 days)
—	I breathe in and out once in a while, even without air. (8 wks)
—	My skin is getting thicker, and harder to see through. (8 wks)
—	I often prefer moving one hand more than the other. (8 wks)
—	I'm making testosterone just like dad (boys only!). (8 wks)
—	I roll over and can even do flips! (8 wks)
—	My joints are a lot like my parent's joints. (8 wks)

—	Today I am a little embryo. But tomorrow I'll be a big fetus. (8 wks)
