Unequal blastomeres and pronounced intercellular clefts in a 10-cell embryo

SEM of a stage 2, 10-cell embryo in vitro on post-insemination day 3. Zona pellucida was removed mechanically. Blastomeres are of unequal size and intercellular clefts are pronounced. Microvilli are dense.
