C-2 dermatome, C-2-C-3 intercrest region, anterior cerebral plexus, blood cells, dorsal aorta, edge of optic stalk, endocardium of conus cordis, endomyocardial space, epimyocardium, esophageal part, mesocardium, mesothelium, pericardial cavity, precardinal vein, prosencephalon (transitional area), right atrium, sulcus limitans, tracheal part

A section through the C-2–C-3 intercrest region and the junction of the telencephalic and diencephalic parts of the prosencephalon.

Observe:
1. The edge of the optic stalk joining the prosencephalon.
2. The inner endocardial layer of the conus cordis and the outer epimyocardial layer separated by the endomyocardial space.
3. The mesocardium between the arterial (cranial) and venous (caudal) ends of the heart.
4. The pericardial cavity lined with mesothelium.
5. The dorsal position of the tracheoesophageal tube to the heart.
